Stormy Serenity: Unveiling the Beauty of Rattray Head Lighthouse

Again I'm on one of my flying visits to Aberdeen this weekend. With no time to scope out some wildlife we head to a local Aberdeenshire landscape location to take some simple minimalist images. However the weather has other ideas and our visit to Rattray provides some impressive waves. Find out if we find that simple serenity in todays video.

Sony A7r3 Vintage Lens Landscape Photography

After picking up a Sony A7riii to use alongside my Sony A6400 I decide to take the camera out into the Derbyshire Peak district with a number of vintage lenses that I had previously used with my Sony A6400 before getting a dedicated landscape lens. The lenses are the Pentax SMC 50mm F1.2 the Pentax-A 28-80mm Zoom and the Pentax SMC 135mm F3.5. With windy changeable weather I take a look how the lenses perform to decide if they will perform well enough until I can get a dedicated landscape photography lens.

My Best Ever Travel Tripod

This weeks video is now live on Youtube. This week I review the best travel tripod I have ever used. And to celebrate my channel going over 1000 subscribers you get the chance to win a brand new copy of the tripod I'm reviewing. As always like and subscribe!

Using Old Vintage Lenses on Modern Digital Cameras

My new video is now live on Youtube. In this weeks episode I look at using old vintage lenses from the 1980's on my brand new Sony A6400 mirrorless camera. Lenses for todays mirrorless cameras can cost thousands of pounds, here I show you that you can get stunning results with lenses costing less than forty pounds from places like ebay. In my opinion the first image ranks as one of the best landscape images I've taken this year, so what do you think? Fancy giving it a try? Please like the video if you do and subscribe to the channel if you haven't. Stay safe and see you next week!

Lightweight Landscape Photography Kit (Lightening the Load!)

This weeks video is now live on Youtube. This week I go through the equipment I have chosen to allow me to travel extremely lightly with my camera gear. This was essential for my new series where I use the gravel bike to get to locations. However, I realise that this may also be useful for those who may be tired of lugging around tonnes of camera kit which can really take the joy out of the hobby. Let me know in the comments if you use any other lightweight kit that I or others would find useful. As always please give the video a like and subscribe to the channel.

Thanks Scott.
